About UMMA Community Clinic
The [University Muslim Medical Association] Inc. (UMMA) Community Clinic is the very first Muslim American-established community-based health organization in the United States, founded by UCLA graduate students in the aftermath of the 1992 civil upheaval in South Los Angeles. UMMA's personnel are culturally and spiritually diverse, serving a similarly diverse community.
According to UMMA, "UMMA envisions itself as one of a wider network of organizations targeting the healthcare and well-being of the neglected and poor, conscious of the cultural, spiritual, social, and political realities that impinge on them, as well as the conventional hurdles to getting care.

UMMA's Mission
According to UMMA, "to improve the well-being of the underprivileged by giving all people, regardless of ability to pay, access to high-quality healthcare." Our services, operations, and governance are guided by the Islamic ideals and moral principles that inspired our forefathers. These are the universally recognized and venerated essential principles of society: charity,
